The core idea
“Support metabolism” is broad structure/function-style marketing language. It should not be silently translated into a promise of meaningful weight loss. The outcome, dose, duration, and evidence still need to match.
A better way to evaluate the question
- Define the claim. Identify the actual outcome being promised or implied.
- Match the evidence. Ask whether research studied the same ingredient or product, dose, population, and outcome.
- Check the total picture. Look for conflicting findings, safety limitations, and whether results have been replicated.
- Keep mechanisms in proportion. A biological mechanism is not automatically evidence of a meaningful real-world result.
